ESPN 30 For 30: The Two Escobars

Written and directed by the Zimbalist Brothers, The Two Escobars tells the story of Pablo and Andres Escobar and their effect on Columbian soccer in the early 1990’s. They interviewed family, team members and friends, and with it created one of the most amazing documentaries I have ever seen. Though the two Escobars were born in the same city with the same last name, they weren’t related, but shared a good friendship that lasted until their demise, and eventually the country’s.

Andres Escobar, at the 1994 World Cup in America, accidently scored USA’s goal against Columbia (while playing for Columbia). When he went back to Columbia, he was shot and killed by rivals to his brother’s Medellin Drug Cartel. This is the film that documents the feelings of the family and friends and the memories shared by Andres Escobar and his team mates.

Best Aspects: Fantastic questioning. The film’s questions and people questioned are both amazing.

Bottom Line: A+. The second best documentary (Vernon, Fl. is still the best because of how bizarre it was) I have ever seen.

I Don’t believe I have ever seen a movie like this before. In Bruges is a so-called “Action/Comedy” about two hit men ordered to lay low after a bad job.
