“Marmaduke” is a family comedy about a Great Dane, a Siamease cat, and their owners moving from Kansas to Orange County, California. “Marmaduke” stars Owen Wilson, George Lopez, and Emma Stone.
The movie starts out with the talking dog, “Marmaduke” explaining to you the members of his family and friends (including Carlos the family cat (Lopez)). After a little explaining of how his life has been so far, the story switches to the family. Phil (the father), Deb (the mother), Barbara (the daughter), and Brian (the son) all thinking about moving to California so Phil can get a better job as a pet food salesman. Nobody has a problem with it except Barbara and Marmaduke. Barbara because she doesn’t want to leave her firends and Marmaduke because he doesn’t know anything about the outside world. The family eventually moves to California and Phil gets a job at a dog park, so he brings Marmaduke. Marmaduke then gets introduced to the different cliques of dogs by Mazy (Stone) and they soon become friends. Marmaduke’s goal in life is to fit in with everybody so he starts hanging around with “The Pedigree’s”. Marmaduke gets mixed up in lies and eventually loses all of his friends. Will Marmaduke get to be friends with Mazy again?
The acting in “Marmaduke” was overall pretty good and wasn’t over the top like some family comedy’s are.
The cast in “Marmaduke” was amazing. It was basically an all-star cast featuring Owen Wilson, George Lopez, Emma Stone, Keifer Sutherland, Fergie, and Marlon Waynes.
“Marmaduke” was a good family movie that kids will love and I reccommend to anyone who likes a heartwarming movie that has a comedic element to it.
