PS. I Love You, a Mr. E Movie Review

(Run time:  126 min. – Directed by: Richard LaGravenese – Starring: Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Lisa Kudrow)

PS. I Love You is a life-after-death romantic tale that stars Hilary Swank as the widow of her recently departed husband played by Gerard Butler.

Gerry, Gerard Butler, is a fun, loving, Irishman whose suddenly die. Left behind is his wife Holly, Hilary Swank. But, as her life seems to be over and she’s not able to come out of her depression over losing her love, Gerry surprises her.

Gerry starts sending Holly letters and gifts from the grave. Not really, he’s actually just put a great deal of thought into what he knew Holly would be going through after his death. He wants to remind her of the good times they had together in hopes of getting her over the loss.

Starting on her birthday and leading her all the way to Ireland and back, Holly’s journey takes her on an emotional ride that’s really just what she needed.

Hilary Swank is lovable and you really feel for her loss as you gain glimpses of what she had with Gerry. Hilary does an awesome job of riding this coaster with a believability that really sucks you all the way in.

Even from the after life Gerard Butler plays this part with a manly warmth that makes you feel just how great of a guy Gerry was. Not just how he put all this thought into trying to help his bride get over her loss but in the times that they did have together.

PS. I Love You is definitely a romantic recommendation to anyone looking for a different kind of love story. One with a new and different point of view that is not only entertaining but is something that your sure to fall in love with yourself.
