Matt Damon stars in ‘We Bought A Zoo’ as a recently widowed man
He’s deeply affected by the loss of his wife and is doing the best he can
He’s trying to raise his kids who are also struggling with the loss of their mother
An event causes him to make a change that impacts both kids—sister and brother
He decides to move the family to a new home that is just outside of town
It’s a house that also has a zoo on the grounds and this turns their life upside down
Scarlett Johannson plays the zookeeper and taking care of the animals is her charge
There are many kinds of animals at this zoo from small ones to those that are large
To get the zoo ready for opening day the crew and the family must work together
They face challenges like running out of money, passing inspection and bad weather
This story is based on a real events which is mentioned during the credits at the end
It’s rated PG but may be too much for little kids with some elements that may offend
It’s a very easy-to-watch film with the animals, some humor and a cute little girl
It’s a little long and slow at parts but it’s a nice story so I say give it a whirl
