Movie and Film Reviews (MFR) Horror Final Destination 3

Final Destination 3

“Final Destination 3” is the third film in the horror series and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Sky High) and Ryan Merriman, two soon-to-be McKinley High School graduates.

The movie starts out with Wendy (Winstead) and Kevin (Merriman) and their friends at an amusement park. After Wendy takes a few pictures for the schools yearbook, her friends want to go on a rollercoaster called “Devil’s Flight”. As Wendy and her friends get on the rollercoaster, Wendy has a premonition showing the rollercoaster crashing, killing everybody. Wendy snaps out of the vision and starts freaking out, wanting to get as many people off the ride as possible. She succeeds at doing so and some of her classmates leave along with Kevin and herself. The ride starts, Wendy’s boyfriend and best friend were not allowed to get off thanks to some screaming fans ready to start the ride. While Wendy and Kevin are escorted out, the rollercoaster crashes killing about ten of her classmates (including her boyfriend). A few days after the accident, Wendy and Kevin are still coping with the death of their friends, but then two other classmates that were originally on the ride died horribly. Wendy soon finds out they died in the order they would have on the rollercoaster in her premonition. She then notices clues in the pictures she took at the park of how each person was going to die. Wendy and Kevin use the clues to try and help the classmates that are still alive. As the movie goes on, more people die in horrific ways, can Wendy and Kevin intervene with death and stop the cycle?

“Final Destination 3” has some pretty decent acting along with some decent characters, it has the certain cliques like any regular high school would.

The background music in this movie was good when it was just music (no vocals). There was one song (with vocals) that played throughout the movie that didn’t fit.

Overall, “Final Destination 3” is a very entertaining film that will make some viewers cringe. I would reccommend this to any supernatural horror fan.

     4/5 stars.
