Tangled-Review

When the threat of the kingdom’s unborn heir and queen’s life are in jeopardy, the search is on for a golden flower. A golden flower was produced from a tear fallen from the Sun and a selfish lonely old woman named Gothel (Donna Murphy) only knew its whereabouts. She would often sing to the flower to obtain its power to remain young for hundreds of years. On the search, Gothel accidently uncovered the hiding spot and the guards found it. With the flower, the queen drank it with water and became whole with a beautiful baby girl that had bright golden hair. As the King and Queen slept, Gothel came and took the baby after she figured out that she can still remain youthful through the baby’s hair. Throughout the years, Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) would sing to Gothel while locked inside a tower; Gothel remained young and beautiful and Rapunzel’s hair grew and grew. One day, the kingdom’s theft, Flynn Rider (Zachery Levi), climbs the tower and tries to hide from the guards. Rapunzel is at first shaken by Flynn from all of the horrible stories Gothel tells her of outside people (to make her stay in the tower) but then sees an opportunity to leave and view an event that happens every year in the kingdom she’s always wanted to see. Will Flynn be able to sneak back into the kingdom? How will Rapunzel persuade him? Will Gothel seek vengeance if Rapunzel leaves? Will Rapunzel find out that Gothel is not her mother?

Review:

This is a really good movie to watch. It had the tradition Disney movie concepts, the funny moment, the sad moments, the heroic moments and the happily ever after (not saying that there is a happy ending, you will have to watch to find out). The animation, of course, was amazing. Every facial expression from the characters is so life-like from Flynn Rider’s cocky grin to Rapunzel’s stern stubbornness. The storyboard is quite original also. The movie showed that the bad guy, Gothel, can also have a heart and grow to love because even though she was using Rapunzel for her hair, she also cared for her deeply. I loved that this film wasn’t too mushy with the romantics. Instead, it was replaced with good humor; the guard horse is my favorite. His determination to enforce the law was too much and too funny. This is a great movie for the family and a great movie with a message. All in all, I will definitely view this film again.

  1. Nice review! You’re right, Tangled is most definitely a great family film. The animation really draws kids (and adults alike)into Rapunzel’s world, and the characters are portrayed very well. They are indeed likeable! You’re right, Tangled is definitely one to watch over and over again!
    Great review!
