This film is kind of a collaboration of the Saw films. It starts off at the end of the last Saw, with Jill (Besty Russell) putting a head snapping device on the murderous Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor). It shows how Hoffman escaped the trap and Jill is on the run for her life. She goes to the police for protection and to expose Hoffman. Meanwhile, best selling author, Bobby (Sean Patrick Flanery) is on tour for his book about surviving one of Jigsaw’s (Tobin Bell) death trap. This isn’t true and Hoffman captures him so he has a real story to tell if he survives. Will Bobby survive and write another book? Will Hoffman ever get revenge on Jill? Is this really the last Saw?
Review:
I loved this film. The gore was so awesome. It made me cringe and that’s hard for a film to make me do. I always believe that Saw should have ended at part three when Jigsaw is killed. Part four, five, and six, just seemed like they were adding new killers that were along side with Jigsaw from the beginning. It wasn’t believable and it was tiring. This film keeps the same killer, who continues to finish what Jigsaw started. By the way, how many people is on Jigsaw’s list? I mean, he died years ago and there’s still a list. There was a twist at the end that I knew was going to happen while watching. It’s very obvious part eight will come out next Halloween. Back to the gore. I liked that Hoffman made one of his test public with two boys on each side of table saws and their just exposed shared girlfriend above them face another table saw. I didn’t like the dialogue too much and the killing was mediocre but the intestines slapping onto the concrete was priceless. From a guy’s skin being cement glued to a car seat and having to ripe his skin exposing his internal muscle, to having a woman’s eyes gouged and throat busted, was what I was waiting for. All in all, I believe this film is not better than part one through three because they are classics, but it is better than part four through six. So I would watch this film again.
