To fuel the fire I really enjoyed this movie. This is one of the best cinematical movies I have ever seen, the camera angles were simply amazing. The music score was perfect for the mood of the film, often faint at times it really adds a sense of nervousness and maybe even some fear.
With so many camera close ups of not only DiCaprio but supporting cast,
background really makes you feel tense. Mark Ruffalo won audiances over
with Zodiac but his performance this time really proves that he’s a
remarkable actor by doing so much and having a major part in the film
without doing a lot. As for DiCaprio, is this his best ROLE? No, but this IS
his best actin of his career. He nails every emotion to perfection and to his
credit although The Departed is also a great movie, his Boston accent was a bit too thick, he toned it down a notch in Shutter Island which worked for the better. Ben Kingsley was superb as usual and somewhat enigma like. All in all Shutter Island is a wonderful example of classic film making, Scorsese
shows us pure brilliance with making the most disturbing images and scenes
beautiful, that’s a rare gift that only few legendary directors have.
