The mechanic-Revised Review

Usually when the word mechanic comes to mind, most think of a person who works on automobiles. This film gives mechanic a new definition; a hit man who makes a kill look as if either it was an accident, a suicide or a health issue and Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a pro at it. One day he is hired to eliminate a dear friend and employer, Harry McKenna (Donald Sutherland). After completing the task, Arthur runs into Harry’s son, Steve McKenna (Ben Foster); whose life is a wreck and wants to become a mechanic to take vengeance on his father’s killer. So Arthur begins training him mentally to becoming a killing machine that pays off physically. Now, the two have their own hit list and there’s no turning back. Will Steve find out that Arthur killed his father? Will Arthur retire and have Steve become his replacement?

Review:

I am so drown to this movie that I can’t stop thinking about it. I was all smiles when it went off and wanted to watch it again. I really, really like this film, very close to loving it. Jason Statham (who has the coolest name in Hollywood) should be named the new king of action. His sex appeal, his “I don’t care” attitude, his fast combat moves and his quick reflexes to pick up and use a machine gun, makes this film half a perfect package. The other half comes from Ben Foster’s character. I loved his broken spirit and quick transition in to the mechanic life style. I was a little surprised to see Ben play his role so well. I cheered and booed for him all at once, which is a lot to say. This movie totally had me at the end of my seat. It also had me in the “freeze mode.” Freeze mode is when you don’t move or breathe too loud or blink until you see what’s going to happen in the next scene. I haven’t been in that mode for a while. The ending was amazing and completely satisfying. I didn’t think I would enjoy it so much and happy to say that, all in all, I will buy this film.
