Alas! There are still many movies (specifically 10) left this year to see before you can call the film season over! Many movies coming out look promising and will hopefully be career boosters either for people who have had bad previous ventures (*cough* Coen Brothers *cough*) or if they are just adding to their awesome repertoire (*cough* Aronofsky *cough*). My list is controversial on one or two points, so tell me what you think:
10. The Tourist – Director: Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck – December 10. Co-written with Christopher McQuarrie. It WILL be good.
9. The Fighter – Director: David O. Russell – December 10.
8. The Tempest – Director: Julie Taymor – December 10.
7. Skyline – Director: The Strause Brothers – November 12. The visual effects designers for Avatar, Titanic, The Book of Eli and 300 direct this to-be-awesome effects fest.
6. Tron: Legacy – Director: Joseph Kosinski – December 17.
5. The King’s Speech – Director: Tom Hooper – Best Actor future recipient Colin Firth (in this film, actually) stars. November 26.
4. Hereafter – Director: Clint Eastwood – October 22
3. True Grit – Director: The Coen Brothers – The Coen Brothers are redoing a classic. See it Christmas Day.
2. Somewhere – Director: Sofia Coppola – The movie that looks to do for Stephen Dorff what The Wrestler did for Mickey Rourke. See this film on December 22.
1. Black Swan – Director: Darren Aronofsky – The story of a stressed ballerina could only be told and shown by Darren Aronofsky. The film WILL be amazing: this, I assure you. See it December 1.
