This film, The Edge, is for those who enjoy the taste of getting lost in the wilderness, and only defeating internal and external problems. Starring in the film is Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs:1991), (The Wolfman:2010) and Alec Baldwin (Beetlejuice:1988), (Malice: 1993) who both make a terrific performace. The film is set in modern time of course, starting off with a plane trip to a remote cabin. But as I mentioned earlier, this is an adventurious film with internal and exernal conflicts between both of these actors which we will begin to describe shortly.
The film starts off with a plane traveling across the mountains to a remote cabin where a professional photo shoot is taking place. The photographer (Alec Baldwin) and the millionare (Anthony Hopkins) are visitors at this cabin for only a short while so Baldwin can make a living with the millionare’s wife. behind Hopkin’s back. But once Baldwin finds a picture in the cabin that is professinally done, they take another flight with one of the crew members until the plane wreaks in the middle of the wilderness. Now, with wisdom that Baldwin is cheating on Hopkin’s wife and a bear following them, they have internal conflicts and external conflicts to establish and accomplish between themselves. But only Hopkins has a gift of intellegence and the knowledge in how to life in the wilderness which probably makes him the millionare in the story.
As for the acting and the direction of the film-maker, I believe this is one of the best films I have ever viewed. It’s a high-quality story due to so many things happening at once–seems to be breath-taking. The music flows with the film like no other, the atomosphere of the film brings the viewer in and doesn’t loose interest (if you loose interest then you shouldn’t be a film reviewist).
Now is the time where I will discuss what I’ve enjoyed about the film. As I have mentioned earlier in this review, there are internal and external conflicts between both characters. One of them is when Hopkins believes his wife is cheating on him with the photographer who is stranded with him. Does that change their relationship? When it comes to deafeating the bear, they work together even if their relationship was poor by the fact that Baldwin was cheating on Hopkin’s wife. But if they weren’t focused on the bear, they would return to their internal problems. Which states back where I said there are many things happening all at once and you need to watch this film more than once to catch all of the clues.
I haven’t been on this site for very long, but I do give all my hopes that it will come with all success. I’ve read reviews and I recommened this film to anyone out there looking for a good movie. Of course there may be certain individuals who won’t like it, but how will you not like it if you don’t give it a try? My results and my raiting of this film stands: Five Golden Stars.

I think that it was one of the most underlooked movies of that year, and that it was a very good plot. Good review, keep them coming.
