Director Martin Scorsese’s American crime thriller is a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film “Infernal Affairs”. The film was well received by audiences and critics alike, and the film won several top prize wins for Best Film, Best Director, Adapted Screenplay, and Editing at the 79th Academy Awards.
A powerhouse cast is lined up for this film. Its a who’s who of Hollywood heavyweights starring in this piece. The list includes: Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo Di Caprio, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, and Alec Baldwin.
A very excellent film. Martin Scorsese at his best with the crime thriller genre since“Goodfellas (1990)” and “Casino (1995)”. I have yet to compare this to its Hong Kong counterpart, “Infernal Affairs (2002)” though. The performances are all excellent in this. Great casting. Leonardo Di Caprio has definitely been a “go to guy” and a perfect avatar for Martin Scorsese films. A great plot that unravels at a kind pace. “Its a chase to find the rat before the rat finds you”, “rats chasing rats”, and everyone is just shady. Excellent.
