Well I can’t believe how busy I’ve become. I published one of my short stories titled “Love’s Not Real” that reads like an episode of the Twilight Zone and have begun working on my next project I’m calling “The Deadz” due out in October. In between it all I have been watching so many movies I thought I’d play a little catch up and knock out a few of the latest ones in new format.

The Change Up, a Mr. E Mini-Review

I know, I know, when you hear the premise is the so very warn out ol’ switcheroo your eye’s roll back into your head. But, that’s just the beginning. It’s what these guys go through after that event that makes this movie not only hilarious but a departure from all the other Freaky Friday types. And by that I mean it doesn’t hurt that The Change Up is “R” rated, if you know what I mean.

As far as the acting goes Reynolds and Bateman do a great job as always so with that I’m giving it a recommend to the 18-and-over crowd along with 3 out 5 stars.

Friends with Benefits, a Mr. E Mini-Review

This movie is what No Strings Attached wanted to be.

Mila Kunis is adorable as the head hunter who recruits Justin Timberlake, an up and coming blogger, to come work with GQ magazine in New York. As his only friend the two eventually decide to give meaningless sex a try and then life happens.

I thought I was going to hate this film but they did an awesome job changing my mind around. I’m giving this great date movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.

The Help, a Mr. E Mini-Review

When a spunky young writer, played by Emma Stone, decides to write about the ugly true lives of mid 19th century southern maids the impact is greater than anyone had ever imagined.

Emma is good but the stand outs in this one are Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. These two ladies show us what its like when you can really act. There performance are sure to be nominated for several awards along with this film.

The only downside to the film is all the backward old fashion racism you’re forced to endure throughout the picture. But again that’s the point of the film. I’m giving this one 4.5 out of 5 stars and a very strong recommend for everyone to see this one in the theatre before its too late.
