No strings attached-Review

Emma (Natalie Portman) is studying to be a doctor; she’s a happy loner who is very pessimistic about love. Adam (Ashton Kutcher) is an assistant who is hopeless romantic waiting for love. Emma and Adam are childhood friends and occasionally bump into each other over the coming years. After both struggle with failed relationships, they decide to have a friends with benefits relationship, no strings attached. Will this arrangement work? How long will it last? Will this end their friendship?

Well, I didn’t want to see this film because it is a transparent movie and there are others movies recently out with the same concept (“Friends with benefits” and “Love and other drugs”). This film was an okay watch, if I must say. I did, however, notice something about Ashton during my viewing; his characters in all of his romantic movies are all the same. He looks deeply into his co-stars eyes the same, he gives off the same shy meet and greet, the same hopeless romantic vibe and the same emotional outburst during a verbal fight. I believe he needs to change genres in order for me to take him seriously as an actor. Natalie was ok; nothing must to say on her. I didn’t like the ending, it was too clique and predictable. All in all, it’s not a terrible movie but I will not see this film again.
