Bridesmaids, a Mr. E Movie Review
Bridesmaids is by far the laugh out loud, funniest movie to hit the big screen in a very, very long time!
I honestly can’t remember a time when I laughed out so hard in a theater that was still full a month after the film was released. And it doesn’t get you two or three time it gets you rolling dozens of times. With the timing of a stand up comic or what really good sitcom’s wish they could do, Bridesmaids is ridiculous.
Raunchy, smart, filled with beautiful, talented women that include Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jessica St. Clair, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper all of which get multiple big laughs.
I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll be brief with my rundown.
When life long friends Annie, played by Wiig, and Lillian, played by Rudolph, thought about growing up they never realized there might be a chance they could grow apart. But when Lillian announces her wedding engagement Annie’s life, which seems to be stuck spiraling out of control, begins to accelerate its decent with the news. As the obvious choice for maid of honor Annie is quickly challenged during the wedding process when hubby-to-be’s bosses wife and Lillian’s new friend Helen, played by Rose Byrne, tries to over step her boundaries and take over Annie‘s role in Lillian‘s life.
Comedic havoc ensues.
So many times in these comedies the trailers spoil all of the fun. In Bridesmaids there are so many scenes that they could never let you see in a traditional trailer that you’re hit with lefts and rights for a 120 minutes straight. I’m not exaggerating. Sex jokes, crazy girl talk, poop, puke, drugs, cops, and more. These woman hold nothing back!
For that not only do I give Bridesmaids 5 out of 5 stars I’m saying right now that this one belongs in any respectable DVD collections comedy section without a doubt.
