Hall Pass is the latest Farrelly Brothers’ comedy starring Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, and Christina Applegate. Hall Pass is set in a small, close knit suburban Rhode Island town.
Best friends, Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) have been married to their wives for many years and are beginning to show signs of being unsatisfied of the current state of their marriages. Both men are checking out other women in the presence of their wives. To make matters worse, Fred’s wife, Maggie (Jenna Fischer), overhears Fred making silly bets over a poker game with his buddies about how they would cheat if their wives could never find out.
After hearing this, Maggie shares this disturbing information with Grace (Christina Applegate) and a mutual Psychiatrist friend of theirs. The Psychiatrist friend shares a possible solution which she and her husband have tried; the “hall pass”. She explains that the hall pass gives permission to their spouse to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to have an extramarital affairs with whomever they meet over the course of the week.
