Buried-Review

What would you do if you woke up in a coffin buried underground? That’s the dilemma Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) has to figure out. Paul wakes up tied at the arms and gauged at the mouth to only see darkness. He finds a cell phone and begins calling around for help. The police, the FBI, his friends aren’t any help and he can’t get in touch with his loved ones. He finally gets hold to someone who works in the terrorist department. Paul remembers that he missed a call when he discovered the phone. He calls the number back and it’s an angry Iraqi terrorist who blames him for the misfortune of his family’s demise because he is an American. The Iraqi then demands five million dollars from the U.S. Secret Service in exchange for his freedom. This request is not the easier to get, especially stuck in a coffin. Will Paul persuade his government to get the money? Will he take a chance and dig his way out? Or will the U. S. military come to his rescue? Review:Bravo and kudos to Ryan on a great performance. I’m a little claustrophobia and just seeing him having to act in a tight space for majority of the time, makes me tip my hat off to him. He worked many different emotions, which had to be difficult with limited space and only relying on facial expressions and voice tones. This movie had me constantly place my feet in his shoes as to what I would do. When I turned on the film, I just knew Paul was going to get buried alive. I love that it kept me in doubt, that maybe he will get rescued. All in all, great performance and I will watch/buy this film.
