“Megamind” (2010)

Megamind is the newest animated film to come out this year , and i must say i’m impressed , i found myself laughing at numerous instances , this movie is Funny!. There is no way around it , its completely enjoyable and Will Ferrell is a iconic genius he knows when to take roles that suit him , and this is one of those , i pretty much was choked up like a baby when i was laughing at some of the mildish entertainment moments in the film , even when those moments you know are completely unimaginably. The film still manages to conquer some nice solid laughs , maybe considering the potent acting power the film has , i mean when you put Will Ferrell in a movie with Brad Pitt , Tina Fey & Johna Hill , the outcome is bound to be pure hilarity. Some of the lines are completely hilarious! you would never think something as dumb and idiotic would be?..But it is , i can not express how much the children and the parents will find this movie to be just as funny as i see it. There are some suggestive moments in the film , but nothing other than the occasional swear word or some mild themes are portrayed. But Will Ferrell steals the show , as the big-blue headed mastermind , that will eventually take over Metro City. That is he will have to put up a fight.

Megamind starts off with the back story , we get the whole opening monologue of how Megamind was teased and tormented growing up , and how Metro Man got the nice living environment as for Megamind landed at a prison. That school was basically hell for him , but then realizes what he is true destined for , which is to be BAD! the baddest villain there is , so he begins to take advantage of that. Soon years later Megamind is in a prison having to serve 85 life sentences. Battling Metro Man , and losing countless and numerous times , well thats all about to change , Soon Megamind develop e’s a plan to escape with his gizmo’s and does and thus begins his final battle with Metro Man (Pitt) , at the unavailing of his new museum. In an attempt to save Roxane (Tina Fey) , Metro Man is tricked and destroyed by Megamind now owns Metro City , Months later Metro City , is nothing but a dead tireless wasteland , and Megamind regretting killing Metro Man , wishes he had not , devises a plan to make a new Superhero! .. “Titan” so that way , Megamind will have someone to battle!. And hopes to regain what he once had!.

The story is a little bit more remorse then most animated movies , this is more clever and more wittier than any other dream works flick we have seen , the plot is more developed , and more unique and stands out , i mean a premise where the bad guy is the good guy!.. we care about the evil guy so much , we want to see him succeed , and beat Metro Man , its like we don’t even care about Metro Man , as much as we do Megamind and in order for that to work , well it takes a lot of preparing , But the movie does causally slip away for some brief touching moments , that Megamind using his Alias Bernard falls in love with Roxanne (Tina Fey) who also is being stalked by her camera man/new superhero titan (Jonah Hill) his cornballish goofiness adds to an already wonderful script. In order to execute a genuine film like this you must have the right ingredients , and Megamind needless to say does just that the stars really make the flick shine brighter than what the film is!

Overall: Megamind is a pure treat that i enjoyed from start to finish , i enjoyed all the clever disguises Megamind had , and all the antics he was up to , the jokes , the humor , but there are some parts where you need to ask yourself what? .. and the childish humor could be a major turn off to the teen-adult audience , but just because its animated don’t mean you should skip the film, thats not excuse , tho not its not as good as animated films in recent memory (How To Train Your Dragon & Toy Story 3) but its up there it tries to make a place it’s own , with its category that redefines itself , the film outdoes itself on many occasions .. as the plot begins to unfold , you are really there you feel for the characters and you want to share in there emotion , but mostly you just want to see Megamind up there having a good time!.. anyway also with a great supporting role as the minion David Cross , hes also a show stealer tho not having much to do , wishing we could see more of him , its ohk tho , the movie is still a must go see MEGAMIND!. but i prefer it better in 2D!
