Paranormal Activity 2 is a Horror/Thriller directed by Tod Williams written by Michael Perry and Christopher Landon. This intense sequel stars Katie Featherston, Micah Sloat and Molly Ephraim who portray a somewhat normal family in today’s society who experience some paranormal activity within their home.

Paranormal Activity 2 is actually a prequel which takes place a few weeks before the events of the first movie. The movie starts off with a family bringing home their new born baby displaying this through the use of a video camera. Like the first movie this one is done with video cameras to create a realization of these events much like the Blair witch Project. Once the baby is settled in the family comes home to a recked house as if they were robbed. After this ordeal they set up video cameras all around the house in case something like that happens again. Suddenly, one by one, each night strange things start to happen around the house. The mother and step daughter begin to be frightened by this while the father is the typical character that blames the doors moving and freaky sounds on the wind. A motive of these events starts to unfold as the strange activity gets crazyer and crazyer.

The characters in this movie come off as annoying with their back and forth family banter between one another.  Much like the first movie it takes a half hour for anything scary to happen. The good aspect of this is that watching this family for the first half of the movie through a video camera is done to make you start thinking this movie is real, even though you know it is not. The movie is filled with parts that make you jump and other times your holding your breath. Without seeing Parnormal Activity 1 the second one will not make as much since.

Personally, this movie scared the crap out of me and I jumped out of my seat a few times. Although this movie has no named actors and is low budget with a few scenes that you may find stupid or unnecessary but overall its pretty good. The ending could have been better but I like how it all comes together. In order to find this movie scary you must go into it with a positive attitude wanting to believe and be scared and if not you better off going to see jackass.  Always remember if you didn’t like the first movie chances are you won’t like the second one.
