SAW 6 – Who would have known?!
“We are going to play a game…”
Although the real Jigsaw has died a long time ago (count three movies now), there are others who were destined to follow his path and continue doing the deeds he performed when alive. Jigsaw’s so-called decease is spreading as detective Hoffman, played by Costas Mandylor, doesn’t trouble at all at playing God with someone’s faith. Or is it just that? Is he playing at all?
Saw -a series filled with gore, pain, blood, cuts, rage, graphic deaths, hardcore tortures and some really common feelings such as humiliation, guilt, pride… But what lies within the nasty cover of dried crimson liquids? Is there the answer to the century’s question “why is life unfair?”? No, but at least there is a lead. It is what we are all asking ourselves when something bad happens to us or someone we know, or to someone we do not know personally, but feel their pain. That is a question, which has crossed our minds many times. But what happens when someone actually takes justice in their hands and helps the predators and ungrateful ones understand where they have been wrong and why, even if it’s by turning them into a pray? They become the criminals and are chased by the so-called police that are meant to serve and protect. But why is what they do considered bad? Don’t we all just learn from the bad experiences? So how else would some learn to cherish life and price other beings?
Anyways, real life is rarely depicted in movies. Also here it is not exactly realistic, unfortunately people who murder and cause pain do not get what they deserve.
There are several major plot lines around the movie. First there is the game of William Easton, an insurer who thinks he has the right to decide who will live and who will die. But he has made one fatal mistake in his life and that was meeting John Kramer, who we already know to be the Jigsaw. Secondly, there are many subplots. Love, hate, careers and family are the keys to this riddle. But will the insurance agent unlock the gate at the right time? Can he take responsibility for his actions? Can he survive to tell the tale?
The sixth instalment of the series happens after not only the death of Jigsaw himself, but also when his apprentices are no longer in the script. However, it was not solely they who trusted his believes. It is now time for detective Hoffman to continue the game and make sure it is played by the rules. This part of the incredibly huge puzzle called “Saw” is one of the hardest to place and it feels great when you have finally done it. Yes, except the usual graphic suicides and murders committed in these movies, here we witness some factors we have forgotten about a long time ago – twists, an idea and a surprising ending. Yes, if you do not believe me – se it yourself. This part really has it all.
