The Good:
Like everybody else I was hesitant to watch this film because of the cold streak M Night has been on lately, while he didn’t direct it just from the previews you felt his hand upon the project. Well folks, Mr. Shyamalan is back and this movie delivered in spades. Now I say this not because Devil is film of the year by any stretch but when you go in expecting a train reck and are pleasantly surprised it ups the praise level a bit. The story is solid for the most part and the cast did a great job, I’ve followed most of Bokeem Woodbine’s career and I think he did great with this I hope to see him in more. But the best part of this flick for me was what the ending was revealed to be and how it was carried out. It provided some truly creepy moments and was even thought provoking if you let your brain process what’s going on, it’s a horror flick but there is a lesson to be learned here peeps. P.S the gore was top….notch.

The Bad:
The only complaint I have about this is a plot point described in some dialogue that never really took off, none was done with the concept so it left me waiting for something interesting that never happened. But again the film was ace so this beef just went over my head and I didn’t really care.

The Bottom Line:
This film is an easy A-, it did it’s job by freakin me and the rest of the theater out (which is a big part of my movie going experience, seeing the rest of the place as into it as I am). The movie offered thrills, chills, and a satisfying ending which is what it promised and it gave the goods.
