This film is about a a successful gynecologist named Catherine Stewart (Julianne Moore) who starts to notice her husband’s, David Stewart (Liam Neeson), tardiness and flirtatious behavior with other women. She thinks her husband is having an affair but she’s too afraid to ask him. She needs proof. Outside of her office window is a restaurant best knowed for men meeting prostitutes. One night, she dines there with her husband and friends and runs into a beautiful woman named Chloe (Amanda Seyfield), who is a prostitute. Catherine decides to hire Chloe to be flirtatious with her husband and see if he responds back. Chloe goes out on meetings with David and reports back unfortunate news of infidelity to Catherine. Catherine is taken aback and instead of stopping and confronting David, she asked Chloe to continue. Things take a turn for the worst, when Chloe starts to fall in love with Stewart. From surprise visits to obsessive phone calls, Catherine can not get rid of her and stop her from seeing her husband. Did David leave Catherine for Chloe? Will Catherine confess to David about the scheme? How far will Chloe take this obsession?

Review:

The film was okay. I think the screenplay could have went better. Reason, Catherine appeared to be a lost dog that can’t find her tail. The evidence was in front of her that her husband was cheating but she couldn’t confront him. The film also made her seem like a terrible mother to her son, Micheal Stewart (Max Thieriot). He has his girlfriend stay in his room all night while having sex and when Catherine confronts him, Micheal slams the door in her face. Catherine walks away losing more respect with each step. Now to Chloe, she makes up the stories of Catherine’s husband cheating because she’s in love with her and killed herself because she couldn’t have her. That just sounds pathetic. Catherine didn’t do anything to egg Chloe on, besides in the end when she sleeps with her. Anyway, I will not view this film again.

  1. **SPOILER**

But Liam Neeson’s character was NOT actually cheating. He had been tempted, but he never acted on it, something that made his character incredibly honorable, in my opinion. If you paid attention, Amanda Seyfried’s character wore the same clothes in every recount of her liasons with Liam Neeson. She made all of these things up so she could be with Julianne Moore because she was in love with her, and a little crazy. The only adulterous one was Julianne Moore, and Liam Neeson forgave her because he loved her and was a gracious man. I thought the movie was cleverly played out and well filmed. A very interesting little psychological drama.
