“Despicable Me” (2010)

Desp*cable Me is the kind of movie that has good intentions , and just wants you to have fun and laugh the whole movie , well i gotta say it did not do just that it did make me laugh out loud on a couple occasions. Which is more than enough for me to give this film a positive review. But also this movie has hear and a sense of “soul” and it knows where it is going. Which for an animated picture these days is good. The 3D was “Eye-popping” they don’t lie , unlike the crap of Airbender. But there is also alot going in this movie as well , which at times can be a little mis-leading. And half the stuff that happen in this movie are irreverent. But see this unlike Salt … adds humor to it so you know its not real or anything but beside that fact that its animated well there ya go. Steve Carrel is just a busy man , with 2 big hits this year Date Night & Now this.. and i have a feeling Dinner For Schmucks will also be a big hit. He was very warm-hearted and caring as the humble , but sly , very intelligent Gru.

The Story here it seems as tho it is something new it does feel rushed to get its 98min runtime all squeezed in to one. In this world there are Villians , that live among us , they walk , they talk , they steal , lie & cheat. They have there own banks where they get money in order to commit false acts. Such as Gru’s evil plans to steal the moon with a shrink ray. I know right?. He is just your normal everyday guy. Who in order to get his bank loan to steal the moon , he needs to steal the shrink ray. Well turns out it is not that easy , Vector (Jason Siegel) is at the top of his game , he just stole the pyramid of Geza. & Now has the Shrink ray in order to foil Gru’s evil plans to take it. So he stumbles upon 3 little girls. Agnus , Margo & Edith. That are going to help Gru to get what he needs in order to continue his evil plot.

But for me who really stole the show , were those yellow little corky things called the minions. Every time they came on screen i could not help but keep a smile on my face. They were horrid to each other , i think they get the idea of Physical comedy. But they are charming , caring , and just plan funny , i figure that this film would not be what it is without these wonderful , yet Dumb , Minions. The 3D visuals were actually better than anticipated. I liked the 3D in this film , it was not cheap , or converted such of the likes as Clash of the Titans & this years worst film , The Last Airbender. It was cool , the roller coaster sequence was pretty amazing and the little guys trying to shoot themself out of cannons and what not just make this movie more fun than what it is.

Overall this movie does have a sense of Humor and i can deal with that , but this film compares nowhere to the likes of Toy Story 3 , But moves along at a somewhat decent pace , but i still fell it was rushed , wish we got to know each character a little better than we did. But im mainly saying to see it in 3D and for those cute , fuzzy minions. I Hardly ever recommend 3D but for this film im willing to make a few exceptions. Steve Carrel was funny as always seems to be. The film knows where it is going which is all i can pretty much say about this movie. This movie has been out for sometime no and i do believe that people have seen this already. Im just glad i could jump on board. its just a great movie that Yes! i will be picking up on DVD just for those little minions that we all know and love so much.
