“Robin Hood” (2010)

The Film Robin Hood is the new take on this historic figure , that everyone knows as the outlaw that steals from the Rich and gives to the needy this is not anything you are expecting .. this is a prequel to the for-told story. Taking on the reigns of this classic tale .. is Ridley Scott. I Like his visual style he has major talent bringing as the works such as Kingdom of Heaven and the Beloved Gladiator. This movie is too long for its own good, and since this movie is in fact a prequel its basically the movie leading up to the movie. The Plot is also a little underdeveloped and maybe should have put more work into. This movie is length as i stated above .. 140 mins to be exact and yes in that 140mins the movie Drags and slides its way on the screen , at one point or another i literally found myself sleeping for 5 or 10 mins this movie got so boring at times i just wanted to get up and leave the theater. But i had payed my money so i wasn’t gonna do. This does not live up to any expectation .. but then again maybe it does the Epic Battle sequence at the end of the film was yes agreed pretty intense. But 20 mins of awesome battle cant save the other 2hrs that well just slug on you have Russel Crowe up there trying to act like he is Robin Hood but in all honestly was he really the correct choice? to some yes and for others no .

.i could not feel myself immersed into his character that were scene’s when they showed flashbacks to when he was a kid and you want to feel bad for him but you simply just cant.I Know i did not. Russel Crowe plays Robin of the Hood for the most part its the late 12th century its when the original king dies for his castle played by (Danny Huston) which then Robin sees his chances at escaping and with his merry man they head off to bid thee farewell or as they put it. Along they way they run into some not so merry man that are up to no good , you see what have helped this film here is they started bursting out into song like in Men In Tights that would have made the movie partially awesome!.Well thats when the “real” Robin hood is killed by the henchmen of the king Sir Godfrey played very reluctantly by Mark Strong!. Who well he has been popping up alot lately. Well after Robin hood and his mean ambush the place They leave a nice mark on Godfrey’s face and well you can tell by the look on his face that it is not over.

Now the real robin hoods last dieing wish is that the sword is to be taken to his father because well he stole it from him and makes him promise that he will return the sword. This of course sparks a war in the England and France this is how it pretty much all begin in that sense. The script mainly here is blandish the screenplayis well in other words pretty much the same.I really wanted to like this moviebut same as clash of the titans i simply couldn’t it Drags on and on.Then we meet Cate Blanchett as the Lady Marion. Who obviously is the love interest here of course for the for-telling Robin hood she is quite good here but her main talent for the most part is wasted. This movie has a mainstream cast and the gimic here as the fact that Russel Crowe the star of Gladiator which was a movie everyone loved and then Ridley Scott director of Gladiator that is whats gonna put people in the movie theaterand the fact also what takes away from this movie is also that it did just so happen to maintain a PG13 rating which in my mind is not a success yes with that it will attract the younger audiences but trust its for the most part not worth it. This movie Twist and Turns and tries to hard to be something that its not and buy the end of the film while your leaving your wondering about what you just saw in the case that mainstream .. wasn’t in any matter as good or live quite up to your high expectations . Fans be advised if your going into this movie looking for adventure granted yes you might get some mild adventure .. But in the end it all falls short of what could have been a great History Epic!

  1. Wow…I appreciate the effort you put into your review but it is very difficult to understand. You’ve got run-on sentences galore, and what is with the random links and capitalized letters? I’d say if you want to write a review, take the time to do it right and really edit your work before you publish it. In doing so, people will respect your opinion more and thus read your posts. Let me know if you need any help.

  2. I agree with GSP. Take some time to review the guide to writing a review as it may help you break down your paragraphs. Part of what makes your review so difficult to follow is that there is no structure to the whole thing. Sorting into paragraphs would help exponentially.

  3. GSP thanks you see i wrote this reviews for previous sites i.e (Movieweb , Metacritic) so thats why the links are there sorry about that .. i have way more .. i just need help in how to seperate this into paragraphs im having trouble thanks!

  4. all you have to do is set up the review in the sense of, as I do, Beginning Information (non-affiliated with plot), plot, feelings (could be included in the beginning), best aspects, and bottom line, which states how you feel the film was and give an ending comment. Just try to organize what you want to say, and you’ll be good to go.
