‘The Bourne Legacy’ is sort of re-booting the Bourne franchise with a fresh start
There’s a new character named Cross and Jeremy Renner has been given the part
The basic plot is similar to the other Bourne films where someone is on the run
A government agency is trying to ‘eliminate’ Cross and his escape provides the fun
Like Bourne, he’s been specially trained but he’s also been altered in a certain way
Due to scientific experiments done to him he needs to take special pills every day
Rachel Weisz plays the scientist who joins Cross after he saves her from death
They wind up in Manila and a crazy chase scene will have you holding your breath
With these two on the loose the government agencies are in major panic mode
There’s a lot of dialogue that sounds very technical as if they’re all talking in code
The action and tension are non-stop as the story jumps around from place to place
Some government people from the first three films are brought back just to disgrace
If you enjoyed the previous Bourne films then you’re sure to like this one as well
It continues the franchise and by the way it ended, there will be more, it’s easy to tell
After watching ‘The Bourne Legacy’, I agree that the movie has many interesting elements which create a contemporary spin on the previous Bourne films, its use of action helps to keep the audience constantly entertained including partial reference to the genre of comedy.
The film however does leave one anticipating the arrival of Jason Bourne actor Matt Damon, yet Jeremy Renner who plays Aaron Cross manages to pull off the Bourne franchise in his own interpretation on the character he portrays. I would highly recommend this film as it kept me guessing and wanting to see more till the very end, what can i say it was over before i knew it.
