Story Breakdown – Truman Capote researches the murders of a Kansas family for his book, In Cold Blood, and develops a relationship with one of the killers.

My Rating – 3 and 1/2 (out of 4)

Review – Absorbing film based on the Gerald Clarke book brilliantly paces itself before heading towards a dramatic, excellent finale. Philip Seymour Hoffman gives an unbelievable performance in the lead, but the whole cast deserves great credit (Catherine Keener and Clifton Collins, Jr. are especially good among the supporting cast.). The writing and direction are also superb. Only complaints: There are a couple of plot holes that leave you wondering and some of the editing is choppy.

  1. I instantly fell in love with Hoffman as an actor. He was absolutely incredible!
After watching this movie I soon became obsessed with the story. I did a lot of research on it. I still have yet to read the book but I definitely want to.
I was very impressed by everything about this film.
But the acting on Hoffman’s part was surly something to take strong note on.
