Review – An extraordinary film about an extraordinary man. Jamie Foxx disappears into the role of Ray Charles, giving the best performance of his career (he doesn’t actually sing, but his lipsynching is perfect). The supporting cast, direction, costumes, sound mixing, and especially music are also great. Overlong but well-made, this plays as both a crowd pleaser and a dark study of a man with a troubled past.
